Wind Energy and wind power

wind power
... But then there's China

Since the demand for electricity is increasing rapidly, especially in developing countries, there is also a growing global market for wind turbines and the development of new, advanced technology should open up markets for exports.

At the same time, the fastest growing economy in the world, China, is building a new coal-fired power plant every ten days to meet its demands for power. Since it is predicted that China will surpass the United States in carbon emissions by next year, it is crucial that wind turbine technology be developed not only for use here, but also in China and other developing countries. Given that market, as well as the fate of the planet, it is in our interest to foster research and the development of more efficient and cost effective wind turbines.

Although wind power, combined with solar energy, generates clean, renewable electric power, together they will not solve all of our problems of carbon emissions, global warming and dependency on imported fuels. However, by providing incentives to develop new technology and install wind and solar systems, while developing new, cleaner biofuels and public transit systems, we can make a major contribution to reducing the threat of climate change and protect millions from disaster.
